  • More about Advances in Environmental Research. Volume 85: Volume 85

This edited volume discusses recent advancements in environmental research, including the Brazilian Program for Production and Use of Biodiesel, Brazilian climate policy, As (III) electrochemical detection, NO biosynthesis, and plant diversity in Saharan Morocco.

Format: Hardback
Length: 265 pages
Publication date: 22 October 2021
Publisher: Nova Science Publishers Inc

This edited volume comprises seven chapters, each exploring a recent advancement in the field of environmental research. In Chapter One, the Brazilian Program for Production and Use of Biodiesel (PNPB) is examined from 2001 to 2013, exploring its effects on social inclusion, its potential direct and indirect influence on deforestation, and the associated violence in defining land property rights. Chapter Two delves into the advancements and challenges of Brazilian climate policy, providing a crucial analysis for understanding the turning point that led to certain setbacks in meeting GHG emissions commitments. Chapter Three focuses on the use of electrochemical techniques based on metal and metal oxides as electrode materials in As (III) electrochemical detection. The current article, therefore, aims to compile recent developments in this field and discuss their limit of detections and future scopes. Chapter Four summarizes the synthesis, functions, NO-signaling pathway, and defense response of plants under drought stress. Lastly, Chapter Five explores the Saharan Morocco region, comprising two major floristic divisions traditionally indicated under Saharan Atlas (As) and Saharan Morocco (Ms) in key Moroccan botanical references. Knowledge of Saharan ecosystems is essential for a better understanding and preservation of current plant diversity.
