By recognizing this system as a vast network of production and reception in which women assumed diverse roles, we can gain new insights into Henrician verse that highlight the interpretive possibilities available to contemporary reading and writing communities. This restoration not only challenges the traditional view of Henrician verse by providing a more equitable consideration of gender roles in that social context but also emphasizes the de-emphasis of individualized self-fashioning or authorial intent in favor of a focus on communal production and shared sociopolitical engagement. Rather than creating a code, this system establishes systems for coding and recognizing position-taking. These communal systems provide a platform for the intersection of readers, writers, transcribers, and composers, as well as between King and courtier, in a space that interrogates, constructs, and disrupts power within the Henrician court.

Dimension: 234 x 156 (mm)
ISBN-13: 9789463723534

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0522/4297/2845/files/1750445947227_book_be427991-ea1c-430d-8d4d-f11da88958cb.jpg?v=1750521888
https://shulphink.com/products/gender-and-positiontaking-in-henrician-verse-tradition-translation-and-transcription-9789463723534
