The Junta de la Victoria was a group of Argentine women who organized in defiance of the neutralist and Axis-leaning government in Argentina during the German invasion of the Soviet Union. The women of Argentina have a long and storied history of resistance against extreme rightists, tyranny, and militarism. This resistance culminated in the formation of the Junta de la Victoria, also known as the Victory Board, in the aftermath of the German invasion of the Soviet Union. The Junta was a group of politically minded women who organized in defiance of the neutralist and Axis-leaning government in Argentina.

The Junta de la Victoria was not explicitly a feminist organization, but it promoted the political rights and visibility of women and attracted forty-five thousand members. The organization brought together diverse constituencies of Argentine women into political involvement in an unprecedented experiment in pluralism, coalition-building, and political struggle.

Sandra McGee Deutsch, a scholar who studies the global conflict between democracy and fascism, uses the Junta de la Victoria as a case study to examine larger questions surrounding this conflict. She explores how the Junta's international perspective and local roots influenced its efforts to combat fascism and promote democracy.

The Junta de la Victoria's legacy continues to inspire women and activists around the world who are fighting against fascism and promoting democratic values. Its example of women's political mobilization and collaboration in the face of adversity serves as a reminder of the power of grassroots movements and the importance of women's leadership in the fight for social justice.
