Concrete Art was introduced by Theo van Doesburg in 1930, but it was first applied to his own works in 1924. This anniversary is a chance to question young artists who have a stylistic affinity to the movement about their relationship to it. Statements from artists are a central element of the publication, along with a brief historical overview of the origins of Concrete Art.

Although Concrete Art appears to be incredibly precise, it is only possible to estimate when the name was first used. Theo van Doesburg formally introduced the term to art theory in his manifesto of the same name in 1930. However, it is claimed that the Dutch artist, architect, and theorist first developed it and used it to describe his own works as early as 1924.
Despite all the ambiguity, this anniversary provides an appropriate opportunity to delve into the relationship of today's young artists with a stylistic affinity to the movement in depth. What impact have the early stages of the art movement had on their own visual work? Are its principles still relevant today? And does the same apply to the name? Their statements, in addition to a brief historical overview of the origins of Concrete Art, are a central element of this publication.
