This comprehensive book delves into the adoption of learning management systems (LMS) in higher education institutions, shedding light on influential factors that may shape instructors' behavioral intention to embrace these systems within the context of Arab culture. Moreover, it presents a novel model of technology acceptance, drawing upon and amalgamating previous models such as the modified unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2). This study extends the UTAUT2 framework by incorporating Hofstedes' cultural dimensions and technology awareness as moderators. It also outlines the methodological approach employed to collect quantitative data from instructors at higher education institutions in Saudi Arabia, which was subsequently analyzed using structural equation modeling utilizing SPSS/Amos software. The findings unveiled that facilitating conditions emerged as the most potent predictor of behavioral intention to adopt an LMS, closely followed by performance expectancy and hedonic motivation. Additionally, technology awareness and cultural dimensions played a moderating role in influencing instructors' inclination to utilize LMS in their teaching practices.
By introducing novel constructs, this study stands as the pioneering exploration of instructors' utilization of LMS in Higher Educational Institutions in Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries. It provides valuable insights for a wide array of researchers and professionals within higher education institutions, serving as a valuable reference guide for designers of learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard systems), policymakers, and Ministry of Education staff.
