This volume, a continuation of the ceramic history of the Saqqara Anubis temple, was excavated by the Egypt Exploration Society from 1977 to 1979. Volume IV delves into the Late Dynastic Period, spanning from at least the mid-6th century BC onwards. Notably, burials began to occur in both the earlier shaft tombs and a newly established cemetery in the sand.
