Eric Tabuchi and Nelly Monnier's Atlas of Natural Regions, a long-term project begun in 2017, continues to document the 450 natural regions, or "countries," that make up the French territory. This photographic adventure spans several years, with one publication released per semester. By exploring these small geographical and cultural entities, the duo captures the visual elements that define a region, combining man-made particularisms such as traditional architectures, toponyms, local aesthetics, and traces of history with natural motifs like reliefs, landscapes, colors, and vegetation. The authors propose thematic entries as formal typologies, such as Training Architectures, Discotheques, Public Geometries, and Infrasculptures, which are spread across the entire territory and illustrate the complexity of France as a global entity. The third volume of the Atlas of Natural Regions contains 12 "portraits" of natural regions, accompanied by 4 thematic entries, and is accompanied by a map as an index. The chapters of the third volume include Pays d Auge, Brie, Camargue, Training architecture, Cézallier, Combrailles, Côte des Bar, Discotheques, Pays de Montbéliard, Outre-Forêt, Revermont, Public geometry, Rochefortais, Pays de Serres, and Pays Toulouse, Infrasculptures.
