The study of bionic organizations, which are characterized by their integration of human and machine capabilities, has gained significant attention in recent years. However, there is a significant funding gap that needs to be addressed to fully develop and implement these theories in enterprise management. Bionic theories have primarily been applied to the enterprise lifecycle due to the similarities between economic organizations and biological organisms. The digital transformation has brought about advancements in the bionics research field, enabling us to discuss bionic organizations as real-world business realities where humans and machines, particularly robotic process automation systems and artificial intelligence tools, collaborate in executing operations.

This book aims to provide a comprehensive definition of a bionic organization and explore its fundamental elements in the context of banking. Specifically, it investigates the two pillars of bionic enterprise: technology and humans, as well as the core objectives and outcomes. To provide a thorough overview, the book proposes a new conceptualization of the business model of a bionic organization based on the Business Model Canvas framework. Ultimately, the study of bionic organizations seeks to uncover how they have evolved in the post-pandemic phase as a result of the disruptive events generated by the pandemic.

The research for this book was conducted using a qualitative and descriptive methodology, with the goal of building further knowledge about the topic based on the existing literature. To provide actual evidence of the reality of bionic financial services, the book includes case studies of organizations that exhibit some of the key traits identified by the bionic enterprise theory. The organizations selected for study have been chosen because they represent key examples of how bionic enterprise theory can be applied in practice.

The book demonstrates that bionic enterprise theory can be further enriched by incorporating the conceptualization of organizational culture. By doing so.
