Cambus Holdings, established in 1984 as a result of the National Bus Company's decision to divide the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company Ltd into smaller entities, assumed the responsibility of operating services in Cambridgeshire and West Suffolk. In 1986, a management buy-out occurred, leading to the formation of Viscount Travel in 1989, followed by the acquisition of Premier Travel in 1990. The company expanded its operations into various geographical areas, including Milton Keynes and parts of Buckinghamshire, before being acquired by Stagecoach Holdings in 1996. During the recent years, the company has ceased its operations in the King's Lynn area, which occurred in 2018.
