It included presentations on the country's climate change vulnerability, the role of livestock in the economy and society, and existing policies and initiatives related to climate change mitigation and adaptation in the livestock sector.

Policy analysis: This theme focused on analyzing the existing policies and regulations related to climate change mitigation and adaptation in Rwanda's livestock systems. It involved presentations on the legal and regulatory framework, policy gaps, and opportunities for enhancing climate resilience in the livestock sector.

Identification of priority areas: This theme aimed to identify priority areas for action and investment in Rwanda's livestock systems to support climate change mitigation and adaptation. It involved discussions on the most critical climate-related risks and vulnerabilities, as well as potential interventions and strategies to address them.

Action plan development: This theme aimed to develop an action plan for implementing the identified priority areas and strategies. It involved discussions on the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders, as well as the resources and support needed to implement the action plan effectively.

Overall, the consultation workshop was a valuable platform for stakeholders to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and identify collaborative opportunities to address climate change impacts on Rwanda's livestock systems. The outcomes of the workshop will inform the development of Rwanda's NDCs and other climate-related policies and initiatives, and will contribute to the global efforts to combat climate change.
