Push, pull, and turn mechanisms bring this classical fairy tale to life! This Welsh adaptation of "The Princess and the Pea" by Non Tduur is the perfect introduction for young children to this popular tale, as they discover how a Queen tricks a young girl into revealing who she really is! This well-loved story is beautifully imagined for new readers by illustrator Emma Martinez.

In a far-off kingdom, there lived a beautiful princess who was known for her delicate and sensitive nature. She had grown up in a lavish palace, surrounded by luxury and comfort, but she often longed for something more. One day, a mysterious stranger arrived at the palace gates. He was tall and handsome, with piercing blue eyes and a warm smile. The princess was intrigued by him and invited him to stay for a few days.

As the days passed, the princess grew more and more fond of the stranger. She found herself drawn to his intelligence, his wit, and his kindness. But she couldn't shake off the feeling that something was not quite right. She couldn't put her finger on it, but there was a sense of mystery about him that she couldn't quite explain.

One night, as the princess was sleeping, she was awakened by a strange noise. She sat up in bed, her heart racing, and listened carefully. She could hear someone moving around in the palace, but she couldn't see anyone. She got out of bed and tiptoed towards the noise, her senses on high alert. As she rounded a corner, she saw the stranger standing in front of her. He was holding a knife, and he looked menacing.

"Who are you?" the princess demanded, her voice trembling with fear. "What do you want?"

"I am the prince of a neighboring kingdom," the stranger said, his voice calm and steady. "I have been sent to protect you."

"Protect me?" the princess asked, confused. "Why would you do that?"

"Because I have heard that a wicked witch has been lurking around the palace," the stranger said. "She is trying to harm you."

"Witch?" the princess said, her voice rising in alarm. "What do you mean?"

"The witch is a powerful sorceress who has been seeking revenge against the royal family," the stranger said. "She has cast a spell on the king, and he is now under her control. She is also trying to harm you."

"We must leave the palace immediately," the princess said, her voice firm. "We must find a way to break the spell."

"I will help you," the stranger said. "But we must be quick. The witch is not far away, and she will not hesitate to harm you if she sees us."

The princess and the stranger fled the palace, running through the dark and dangerous streets of the city. They encountered many challenges along the way, including treacherous terrain and fierce creatures. But they were determined to find a way to break the spell and save the king.

Finally, they arrived at the witch's lair. The witch was a tall and imposing figure, with long black hair and a fierce expression. She was surrounded by a group of evil spirits, who were all under her control. The princess and the stranger approached the witch cautiously, knowing that they were in great danger.

"We have come to break your spell," the princess said, her voice strong and determined. "We will not let you harm the king or anyone else."

"You are foolish," the witch said, her voice dripping with contempt. "You cannot break my spell."

"We will try," the princess said, her eyes flashing with determination. "We have nothing to lose."

The princess and the stranger began to chant a powerful spell, one that had been passed down through generations of royal families. The spell was complex and intricate, and it required a great deal of energy and focus. But the princess and the stranger were determined to succeed. They chanted the spell for hours, their voices growing hoarse and their bodies tired.

Finally, the spell was broken. The evil spirits were released, and the king was freed from the witch's control. The princess and the stranger were hailed as heroes, and the kingdom was once again safe. The princess and the stranger fell in love, and they were married in a grand ceremony. They lived happily ever after, surrounded by their friends and family.

And so, the princess and the stranger lived happily ever after, thanks to the power of love and the courage of their hearts. They had overcome great challenges and obstacles, but they had never given up on each other. And in the end, they had everything they had ever dreamed of.
