Ernest Fann is an avid admirer of Batman, and it wouldn't be an exaggeration to suggest that he aspires to emulate his life. Without any formal training or extraordinary abilities, young Ernest embarks on a mission to establish a crime-fighting unit comprised solely of his close friends and his beloved dog. Ernest assumes the alias of Gerbilwing, his best friend Jack becomes Nightstand, his sitter Harriet is christened Nightshadow, and his dog Westy assumes the crime-fighting persona of Night Terrier. Ernest, of course, designs their rigorous training exercises, which include Scowling, Standing Mysteriously on a Roof, and conducting neighborhood patrols. However, things take a comical turn when Ernest and Jack, or rather, Gerbilwing and Nightstand, visit a bank that coincidentally finds itself in the midst of a robbery. And oh, what a robbery it is—one orchestrated by a werewolf! What's the connection between this werewolf and a series of unfortunate disasters that have plagued Ernest's neighborhood? Will The Batman Squad suffer a humiliating defeat on their very first day of crime-fighting?
