Feminism is a groundbreaking new interpretation of British art from an intersectional feminist perspective, penned by one of Britain's most renowned writers. Art museums have always captivated me with their inviting spaces, offering a unique avenue for communication that diverges from my own. I am particularly drawn to the most intriguing and daring artists, who undoubtedly rank among the most innovative thinkers on the planet. Their exceptional talent and boundless creativity inspire awe in me, fueling my imagination and challenging me to reimagine life in diverse ways. My senses are awakened, my emotions stirred, and my brain engages in a continuous whirl of thoughts, leaving me feeling invigorated and fully alive.

When I received the invitation to write this book, my first venture into the realm of art writing, I immediately decided to focus on women and womxn of color in British art, as we have often been overlooked, both as creators and curators. This book is deeply personal, encompassing the art I have encountered and cherished, as well as my interpretation of art within the national collection and beyond, through an intersectional feminist lens. It explores the ways in which art can be a powerful tool for empowerment and representation, challenging societal norms and promoting inclusivity.
