Giuseppe Terragni, an influential proponent of modernism in Italianarchitecture and design in the 1920s and 1930s, translated the visualvocabulary of Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe into what became knownas the Rationalist School of Architecture. This monograph covers hislater years (he died in 1943), with a focus on the war and hisdevastating experience as a soldier. It includes some notable projectsfrom the 1930s like the Casa del Fascio in Como, and the designs for anunrealised final project for a cathedral that he did in the days beforehis death. The book is illustrated with historical photographs andincludes letters Terragni wrote from the front.
