Power's journey took him through Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Wyoming, before returning to Colorado. In subsequent expeditions, he ventured to Alaska and then embarked on a lengthy journey to Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and upstate New York. This latest book showcases a selection of these new images, alongside those captured during his previous adventures. Power has likened the process to assembling a vast and intricate jigsaw puzzle, with little insight into the final outcome.

Each book in the series has showcased a distinct shift in mood or tone. In this latest installment, the human presence has gradually evolved from being merely incidental in the landscape to becoming an integral part of certain images. The tone of the book is more optimistic than before, creating a sense of connection and diminishing the often prevalent sense of isolation in the vast expanse.

While on his recent trips, Power observed the political landscape undergo a transformation with the election of Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States. While domestic US politics may have appeared less dramatic and eventful under the new administration, Power recognized that the country remained divided, with the next election just around the corner.
