Before becoming a sculptor, Hans Bach, a Swiss artist, initially pursued a career as a draftsman, etcher, and illustrator. Since the 1980s, he has established a renowned body of work, consisting of expressive wooden sculptures. The sculptor, who also served as a lecturer at the Zurich University of Design and Art (now known as Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK) from 1986 to 2006, primarily focuses on human subjects. In 2001, Scheidegger & Spiess released the book Hans Bach, which is now out of print. Sculptures 1992–2001, a publication dedicated to his wooden sculptures created in the 1990s, particularly his expressive female figures, was released. This volume offers a glimpse into his artistic journey over the past ten years, showcasing not only the sculptures but also prints and drawings.
