Jean-Philippe Delhomme's first monograph, "Paintings," showcases 175 of his works created between 2012 and 2022, showcasing his artistic journey across various locations and studios in the United States and France. During this period, Delhomme divided his time between New York, where he maintained a studio for about ten years, Paris, Los Angeles, the Paris suburb of Asnières, and then Paris again. In the 1980s, when painting and figurative work seemed inadequate to the art world, Delhomme turned to print publications, finding them a more lively medium to engage with society. He produced gouaches for advertising campaigns for the upscale department store Barneys in the 1990s, collaborating with poet, writer, and critic Glenn OBrien. Delhomme is also a published author, with several books and novels in French, and has contributed to French and international magazines with his own columns combining wit and social commentary. While painting has always been a passion for Delhomme, he began to focus more on it in his Bushwick studio in 2009, eventually devoting himself entirely to the medium. The surroundings and sweeping views of his studio in Bushwick inspired his work, and he continued to create landscapes and portraits of his friends and family.
