The contributions in this volume were predominantly presented at the conference Research on Nestorianism in China. Zhongguo jingjiao yanjiu ä¸åœ‹æ™¯æ•™ç ”ç©¶ held in Salzburg, 20-26 May 2003. Similar to the conference, the volume delves into various aspects of Nestorianism (jingjiao, Luminous Religion). The material in this collection is organized into five parts. The first part presents diverse perspectives on the past and ongoing research on jingjiao. The second part explores jingjiao during the Tang dynasty, particularly focusing on the question of Nestorian texts and documents, their authenticity, and theology. The third part examines Nestorian inscriptions and remains from the Yuan dynasty, particularly from Quanzhou. Part four is dedicated to addressing questions related to the Church of the East in Central Asia and other historically significant countries. The final part of the book presents a Preliminary Bibliography on the Church of the East in China and Central Asia specifically prepared for this volume.
