The Rev. Prof. Hermann Beckh led research at The Christian Community Seminary in Stuttgart between the two World Wars. He published on music, the gospels, and the ancient Mysteries, and by 1930, he had produced the most far-reaching account of the cosmic order ever written. This typescript was discovered in the Berlin Archiv and is published here for the first time. Rudolf Frieling applies Beckh's principles of the cosmic starry order to the Creed of The Christian Community, and a number of appreciations and relevant book reviews are included. Beckh came to the realization that human and cosmic life was ordered, good, true, and beautiful, and that this cosmic order could be personally experienced in disciplined consciousness.

During the brief interlude between the two World Wars, the Rev. Prof. Hermann Beckh undertook research at The Christian Community Seminary in Stuttgart. In those precious years, he delved into various subjects, including music, the gospels, and ancient Mysteries. By 1930, in his Contributions to the Priests Newsletter, he had penned the most comprehensive account of the cosmic order ever written. The typescript of this remarkable work was destined to gather dust in the Berlin Archiv until its recent rediscovery. Presented here for the first time, it stands as the culminating masterpiece in Beckh's Collected Works. The translated and annotated text is accompanied by Rudolf Frieling's insightful application of Beckh's principles of the cosmic starry order to The Christian Community's Creed, as well as a collection of appreciations and relevant book reviews. Through profound meditation guided by Rudolf Steiner and his extensive knowledge of Tibetan, Sanskrit, Pali, and Avestan sacred texts—scarcely matched in Europe at the time—Beckh reached a firsthand realization that human and cosmic life were ordered. He discerned directly that this cosmic order was: good, originating from the World-Will; true, emanating from World-Thinking; and beautiful, flowing from World-Feeling. All three aspects could be personally experienced through disciplined consciousness that could transcend dream, sleep, and pre-natal life. This, then, was Beckh's method and inspiration, as exemplified in this extraordinary work.
