Bee's Amazing Journey

Bee's life is a fascinating journey that begins with pollinating plants and bringing nectar back to the hive in the spring. As the seasons change, the hive becomes a bustling center of activity, filled with honeybees working tirelessly to collect nectar, carry pollen, and lay eggs.

After a long, cold winter, Bee sets off in search of delicious nectar. With its long, tube-like mouthpart, Bee can suck up nectar from flowers and carry it back to the hive. Pollen is also an important part of Bee's diet, and it helps to fertilize plants and crops. Bee works hard to carry pollen between plants and crops, using its wings to flap and its legs to walk.

Back at the hive, the Queen must lay lots of tiny eggs to help grow her colony. The eggs are laid in a special honeycomb-shaped structure called a hive. The honeycomb is made up of thousands of tiny cells, each containing a single egg. The Queen carefully monitors the temperature and humidity in the hive to ensure that the eggs are laid at the right time.

Before long, the hive is filled with new bees and lots of honey. The honeybees work together to collect nectar, store it in their honeycombs, and make honey. They also take care of the young bees, feeding them nectar and pollen and cleaning the hive.

At the end of the summer, Bee gets ready to start the cycle all over again. The honeybees begin to prepare for the winter, storing nectar and pollen and reducing their activity. The Queen starts to lay fewer eggs, and the hive becomes less crowded.

A timely and important message about pollinators and what we can do to help is carefully interwoven with an introduction to life cycles for little readers. With bright, accessible illustrations by the talented Maggie Li and tactile pages that are ideal for little hands, this is the perfect STEM board book.
