Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was a painter, architect, engineer, sculptor, anatomist, geometer, naturalist, poet, and musician. He was celebrated by his fellow Florentine Vasari and is one of the main sources of our knowledge of his life. This book includes his life, three early biographies, a major account by his French editor Du Fresne, personal reminiscences by the novelist Bandello, and a dialogue between Leonardo and the Greek sculptor Phidias. It also includes 50 pages of color illustrations of his work.
