Dear Diary,

Today, I find myself writing from a place I never thought I'd be - stranded on a deserted island! It all started when my mum took my family on a research trip to Cambodia. We were so excited about exploring this beautiful country, but little did we know that fate had other plans.

As we set sail on our boat, everything seemed perfect. The sun was shining, the water was calm, and the sky was a deep blue. But then, out of nowhere, a storm hit us. The waves were towering, and the wind was howling. Before we knew it, our boat was capsized, and we were left floating in the middle of the ocean.

At first, I was terrified. I didn't know what to do, and I felt so alone. But then, I saw something that made my heart sink - a baby gibbon. It was clinging to a piece of debris, and it looked scared and alone too. I knew I had to do something to help it.

I swam over to the gibbon and picked it up gently. It was so small and fragile, and I couldn't believe that it was alone in the world. I held it close to me, trying to comfort it, and I knew that I had to do everything in my power to keep it safe.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. We were stranded on a small, deserted island, with no food, water, or shelter. The storms were still raging, and the sun was still scorching. But we were determined to survive.

We searched for food and water, and we built a makeshift shelter using branches and leaves. We used the gibbon as our companion, and it became our source of joy and comfort. It was so cute and playful, and it helped us keep our spirits up.

But as time went on, we knew that we had to find a way off the island. We tried to signal for help, but there was no one in sight. We were alone, and we had to rely on ourselves to survive.

One day, as we were exploring the island, we stumbled upon a hidden cave. Inside, we found a treasure trove of food and water. We were overjoyed, and we knew that we had found our way off the island.

We packed up our belongings and set out on our journey. It was a long and difficult journey, but we made it. We were rescued by a passing ship, and we were reunited with our family.

Looking back on this experience, I realize how much I have learned. I have learned to be resilient, to never give up, and to always believe in the power of hope. I have also learned to appreciate the little things in life, like a baby gibbon's smile or a beautiful sunset.

I am grateful for the people who rescued us, and I am grateful for the lessons that I have learned. This experience has changed me in ways that I can't even begin to describe, and I will never forget it.

Until next time,
Lark
