Edges explores the form and possibilities of the edge, Wild flips the narrative, Metrics examines methods of observing and quantifying themselves, and Culture takes on the us and them of the frontier, shifting our perception of this as a binary divide to a growing rhizomatic network of beings.

The editors pondered the possibility of leveraging the frontier story itself to challenge its dominant narrative. They approached this task by dividing it into four distinct sections: Edges delved into the essence and potentialities of the edge, unraveling the rigid binary nature of the frontier. Wild reversed the narrative, dismantling established categories of wild and tame to deny their inherent separateness. Metrics explored the ways in which observing and quantifying oneself could serve as tools for gaining new insights: the map shapes the frontier, and altering the way we map or measure inherently alters the frontier itself. Finally, Culture tackled the notion of the "us" and "them" of the frontier, shifting our perception of this as a binary divide to a burgeoning rhizomatic network of beings. Where the meeting of cultures did not signify appropriation, erasure, and dominance but rather held the promise of generative complexity.
