Acclaimed author Rumiko Takahashi's timeless romantic comedy delves into the journey of discovering one's true path in life. Yusaku Godai, faced with the disappointment of not being accepted into college on his first attempt, embarks on a determined path to retake the entrance exams. However, the challenges he encounters are amplified by his living situation in a dilapidated building inhabited by a diverse and boisterous array of tenants. The arrival of a stunning woman, who assumes the role of the new resident manager, further complicates Godai's pursuit of academic success.

Amidst the chaos, Godai's life takes an unexpected turn when he heroically rescues Kyoko Otonashi from a perilous fall off the roof of Maison Ikkoku. Their encounter sparks an argument, leading to Godai's accidental fall from a balcony, resulting in a broken leg. Despite the physical setback, Kyoko remains by Godai's side, visiting him regularly in the hospital. However, the presence of their friends and the surrounding commotion make it increasingly difficult for them to find solace and reconcile their feelings.

As Godai recovers, he reflects on the events that have led him to this point and the importance of embracing his true passions. With Kyoko's unwavering support, he embarks on a new chapter of his life, determined to pursue his dreams and create a future filled with love, happiness, and fulfillment.
