Compiled as Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems, it encompasses the papers presented at IITI 2021, the Fifth International Scientific Conference on Intelligent Information Technologies for Industry, held from September 30 to October 4, 2021, in Sirius, Russia. The conference was jointly organized by Rostov State Transport University (Russia) and VŠB–Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic), with the participation of the Russian Association for Artificial Intelligence (RAAI) and Sirius University (Russia).

IITI 2021 focused on practical models and industrial applications related to intelligent information systems, serving as a platform for researchers and practitioners to facilitate the integration of advanced information technologies into diverse industries. Additionally, the conference included theoretical discussions on the current state-of-the-art in intelligent systems and soft computing.

With 180 paper submissions from 14 countries, the submissions underwent rigorous review by at least three chairs or PC members. Out of these, 69 regular papers were accepted, representing a 38% acceptance rate. Regrettably, due to limitations in conference topics and edited volumes, some highly interesting papers had to be rejected. The Program Committee extends its gratitude to all authors and reviewers for their diligent efforts and valuable contributions.

The success of IITI 2021 was greatly attributed to the warm and welcoming attitude of conference supporters and contributors, making it an unforgettable event.
