Clayton Yeutter, a remarkable individual born in 1930 and passing away in 2017, embarked on a remarkable journey from a humble upbringing on the dusty plains of rural Nebraska to serve four U.S. presidents. His remarkable career included serving in the cabinets of two of these presidents. The challenge he received from one of President Ronald Reagan's aides was daunting yet inspiring: to go and change the world. As the U.S. trade representative, Yeutter achieved just that, pioneering the opening of the global trading arena through bold initiatives that resulted in the formation of NAFTA, the establishment of the World Trade Organization, and unprecedented growth in cross-border business. It is without a doubt that Yeutter's legacy is etched in the foundation of today's global trading regime.

In addition to his distinguished legal and economic credentials, Yeutter possessed a wealth of business experience, having served as the head of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, now known as the CME Group. However, his roots remained firmly planted in the agricultural heritage of his family. This led him to another pivotal role as the secretary of agriculture under President George H.W. Bush.

Yeutter's intellectual prowess, coupled with his engaging personality and infectious smile, made him a friend and confidant of leaders and trade officials across the globe. Despite his unwavering loyalty to the Republican Party and his roles as a counselor to a president and head of the Republican National Committee, Yeutter possessed a moderate temperament that garnered admiration from both sides of the political aisle.

This is the story of Clayton Yeutter, a man who overcame adversity, achieved remarkable success, and left an indelible mark on the world of politics and trade. His journey serves as an inspiration to all who aspire to make a positive impact on the world around them.
