Rita had always dreamed of having a rabbit as a pet. She had imagined cuddling with a soft, fluffy creature and spending endless hours playing with it. However, her reality was far different from her expectations. Spike, her pet bearded dragon, was not a rabbit at all. He was scaly, scary, scratchy, scrabbly, scrawny, speckled, and spiky. Rita was disappointed and couldn't understand why she had ever wanted a pet like Spike.

Just when Rita was about to give up on the rabbit, Spike came to the rescue. He chased the rabbit away and saved Rita from having to clean up after it. Rita was amazed at Spike's bravery and realized that he was more than just a scaly, scary bearded dragon.

From that day on, Rita and Spike became the best of friends. They played together, explored the world, and cuddled on the couch. Rita was grateful for Spike's protection and realized that she had been wrong about him all along.

In the end, Rita learned a valuable lesson about being careful what you wish for. She had always dreamed of having a rabbit, but she had never considered the reality of owning a pet. She had learned that sometimes, the things we want aren't always what we need.
