For fifty years, Roger Bamber, one of Britain's most renowned photojournalists, has dedicated his life to creating this exceptional reflection of a career that spanned a century filled with riots, bombings, and the chaotic world of rock and pop. But he also captured with a sympathetic eye the decline of traditional British industries and the old steam railways. Bamber's graphic photographs are renowned for their distinctive, often wryly humorous style and powerful visual impact, having been widely published worldwide. He has received numerous awards for his features on the arts, including being named British Press Photographer of the Year twice and British News Photographer of the Year. As his career progressed, he primarily worked for the Guardian, finding great joy in collaborating with creative individuals who had compelling stories to tell. He preferred to work outdoors, ideally near the sea, and showcased ordinary people, celebrating the extraordinary in all of us.
