Full of humor, drama, and adventure, this retelling of a little-known figure of Arthurian Legend, co-written by friends Kaliis Smith and New York Times bestselling author Holly Black, is perfect for any knight in training.
Prince Morien was brave and clever and true, but he was also a bit of a troublemaker. He loved to tinker with machines and invent new things, which often got him into trouble with his father, the king. One day, Morien was sent on a quest to find a magical sword that could only be wielded by the bravest knight. The sword was said to be hidden in a mysterious castle in the desert, guarded by a fearsome dragon.
Morien set off on his journey, accompanied by a loyal squire named Sir Lancelot. They encountered many challenges along the way, including a band of robbers, a treacherous river, and a fierce desert storm. But Morien was determined to find the sword, and he and Sir Lancelot eventually made it to the castle.
Inside the castle, they found a vast library filled with ancient books and scrolls. Morien searched through them, looking for any mention of the magical sword. Finally, he found a clue that led him to a secret chamber deep within the castle. There, he found the sword, gleaming in the dim light. But as he picked it up, a voice echoed through the chamber, warning him that the sword was not meant for him.
The voice belonged to a powerful sorceress named Morgana, who had been waiting for Morien to arrive. She revealed that the sword was actually a powerful weapon that could be used to control the minds of others, and she intended to use it to take over the kingdom. Morien was shocked and horrified by Morgana's plans, but he was also determined to stop her.
Morien and Sir Lancelot fought bravely against Morgana and her army of evil creatures. In the end, Morien was able to defeat her and save the kingdom from her grasp. He was hailed as a hero, and his father, the king, was proud of him.
Morien returned to his father's castle, where he was celebrated for his bravery and ingenuity. He continued to tinker with machines and invent new things, but he also knew that he had a duty to protect his kingdom and his people. And so, he set off on new adventures, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
