St Marys is a vibrant London church located on the northern edge of Primrose Hill, renowned for its exceptional liturgy and music within the Anglican tradition, its unwavering support for women in ministry, and its pioneering work in youth ministry and social outreach. The church's architectural design was envisioned by MP Manning and constructed by Dove Bros of Islington in two phases (1872 and 1892).

To commemorate the church's 150th anniversary, this book has been published. It delves into previously unexplored archives to chronicle the history of the building and its worshiping community. The book is divided into two parts: 1872-1951 and 1952-2022. The first part, spanning from the church's origins in the Boys Home on Regents Park Road to the post-World War recovery era, is filled with captivating stories. These include St Marys involvement in the Ritualist controversies of the Victorian church, the near collapse of the building due to railway tunneling in the 1870s, the remarkable innovations of Percy Dearmer (vicar from 1901 to 1915), and the challenging years of the Blitz in the 1940s.

The second part of the book, drawing from the personal memories of the current congregation, explores how St Marys has transformed into the beacon of hope it is today. It also assesses the church's unique place in Christian witness, both in the present and for the future. This commemorative book serves as a tribute to the enduring legacy of St Marys and its profound impact on the spiritual lives of its members and the wider community.
