The 13th International Workshop on Statistical Atlases and Computational Models of the Heart,STACOM 2022, held in conjunction with the 25th MICCAI conference, included 34 regular workshop papers and 14 papers from the CMRxMotion challenge. The papers covered topics such as common cardiac segmentation and modelling problems, generative modelling for ageing hearts, learning cardiac motion using biomechanical networks, physics-informed neural networks for left atrial appendage occlusion, biventricular mechanics for Tetralogy of Fallot, ventricular arrhythmia prediction by using graph convolutional network, and deeper analysis of racial and sex biases from machine learning-based cardiac segmentation.

The 13th International Workshop on Statistical Atlases and Computational Models of the Heart, STACOM 2022, was held in conjunction with the 25th MICCAI conference, and this book serves as the proceedings of that event. The proceedings include 34 regular workshop papers that underwent rigorous review and selection after being revised. These papers cover a wide range of topics, including common cardiac segmentation and modelling problems, advanced generative modelling for ageing hearts, learning cardiac motion using biomechanical networks, physics-informed neural networks for left atrial appendage occlusion, biventricular mechanics for Tetralogy of Fallot, ventricular arrhythmia prediction by using graph convolutional network, and deeper analysis of racial and sex biases from machine learning-based cardiac segmentation.
In addition to the workshop papers, the proceedings feature 14 papers from the CMRxMotion challenge. This challenge aimed to assess the effects of respiratory motion on cardiac MRI (CMR) imaging quality and examine the robustness of segmentation models in face of respiratory motion artefacts. A total of 48 submissions were received for the workshop.
The STACOM 2022 workshop brought together experts from various fields, including medical imaging, computer science, and mathematics, to discuss the latest advancements in cardiac modelling and segmentation. The contributions made by the participants in this workshop will undoubtedly contribute to the development of new methods and tools for studying the heart and its diseases.
