Queen Lakshmibai of Jhansi was a remarkable and unconventional queen. Not only could she read and write, but she also possessed remarkable skills in horse riding and wielding a sword. Moreover, she was a true warrior, training other women to ride and fight alongside her.

However, her defiance knew no bounds when the East India Trading Company, which ruled India in the 19th century, demanded that she hand over control of Jhansi. Undeterred, Queen Lakshmibai refused to comply with their demands.

When an uprising began to stir in 1857, and the British laid siege to her fortress, Queen Lakshmibai showed her true courage and determination. Despite the risk to her own life, she tied her infant son to her back, mounted her beloved horse, and escaped to raise an army.

Her bravery and resilience in the face of adversity made her an icon of resistance in colonial-era India. Her story continues to inspire and empower women to this day, reminding us of the power of courage and determination in the face of adversity.
