This volume comprises a selection of papers presented at the 28th International Conference on Systems, Signals, and Image Processing (IWSSIP 2021), held in Bratislava, Slovakia, in June 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was held online. A total of 14 full papers and 5 short papers were presented, and after rigorous review, 11 papers were selected from the 76 submissions.
