Between 1915 and 1917, the renowned Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev embarked on a creative journey, composing a captivating series of twenty piano pieces. During one enchanting evening, as he played these musical compositions for a gathering of friends, the poet Konstantin Balmont was inspired to pen a sonnet titled "Mimolyotnosti." Kira Nikolayevna, a talented translator, would later translate this sonnet as "Visions fugitives." Enchanted by the brilliance of these miniature masterpieces, I embarked on a project to assemble a magnificent jewel box. Within this box, I have carefully curated twenty individual felt-tip drawings on watercolor paper, each capturing fleeting visions of the enchanting landscapes of Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico. These captivating drawings serve as a testament to the profound influence of Prokofiev's music on the artistic world, as well as my own admiration for the beauty and mystique of these two remarkable destinations.
