The first edition of this book was published in 2014 and was acclaimed as the bible of classic Jaguar racers. This new edition contains 500 illustrations and brings the individual stories of over 150 cars up to date. Jaguar had become the leading high-performance car in Britain thanks to the revolutionary XK engine, and the XK120 was the fastest production car in the world. The new Jaguar C-type succeeded in winning at Le Mans on the first attempt, and four Le Mans victories followed. The E-type was never as successful in racing, but the small run of lightweight cars and other competition versions added further lustre to Jaguar's reputation. Virtually all the cars have survived and have seen a steady increase in value.

The first edition of this remarkable book was published in 2014 and quickly gained recognition as the ultimate reference for classic Jaguar racers. This extensively revised and expanded edition spans over 400 pages and features an impressive 500 illustrations. It brings the individual stories of over 150 iconic cars up to date, while also providing valuable additional information and appendices. Today, the name Jaguar remains highly revered in the annals of British automotive history, having secured four prestigious victories at the prestigious Le Mans 24-hour race. Just twenty years after the birth of their first car, Jaguar had emerged as the preeminent high-performance car in Britain, thanks to the revolutionary XK engine. The XK120, in its time, held the title of the fastest production car in the world. While the company had already made a name for itself in motor racing, it was a bold move to venture into Le Mans, widely regarded as the most famous motor race in the world. Remarkably, the new Jaguar C-type achieved an astonishing feat by winning the Le Mans race on its very first attempt. This remarkable achievement was followed by four additional Le Mans victories, with the C-type securing its second win in 1953 and D-types securing three wins from 1955 to 1957. By that time, the Jaguar works team had withdrawn from racing, but private entries of Jaguar C- and D-types continued to participate in various races for many years. While the E-type may not have achieved the same level of success in racing due to its design as a GT road car rather than a dedicated racer, the limited production of lightweight cars and other competition versions further enhanced Jaguar's reputation. C- and D-types were sold to private owners on both sides of the Atlantic, many of whom utilized them for racing purposes. However, what sets these cars apart is their ability to be used on the road, unlike most later sports-racing cars. This unique feature continues to be one of their most appealing aspects, contributing to their enduring popularity and survival. Virtually all the cars featured in this book.
