The second of two volumes, this book about Carlo Morselli's criminology includes a diverse range of contributions that explore the social interconnectedness of criminal phenomena. It presents various studies on the significance and impact of social ties on offenders, victims, and the social response to crime.

The notion that social relationships hold a pivotal role in understanding human phenomena finds its origins in Jacob Moreno's work in 1934, whose contribution, among others, laid the foundation for social network analysis (SNA), a set of methods and approaches that study dyadic relationships and their connections to other dyads within the same network. Surprisingly, SNA was not widely embraced in criminology until the late 20th century. It was only through the efforts of researchers like Carlo Morselli that the principles of SNA and graph theory were applied to criminological objects. As a researcher, Morselli exemplified SNA; he was a so-called "broker" in his network of social scientists, connecting dozens of excellent researchers with whom he collaborated, directly or indirectly. Granovetter demonstrated that "weak ties," or acquaintances, played a crucial role in the diffusion of new ideas, and Morselli put this insight into practice in criminology. While it is impossible to summarize Carlo Morselli's work in a single paper or book, the breadth of his contributions to criminology is evident in the six chapters of this volume, each of which draws from a specific area of interest within Carlo Morselli's research.

The Criminology of Carlo Morselli - Part II will serve as a valuable resource for academics, researchers, and advanced students of Criminology and Criminal Justice, Sociology, Social Sciences. The chapters included in this book were originally published as a special issue of Global Crime.
