This new abridgment of Marx and Engels' 1846 engagement with the philosophical tradition, edited and with an introduction by philosopher Tom Whyman, offers a fresh perspective on one of the most challenging and debated texts in Marx's oeuvre. Written in 1846 and subsequently abandoned by Marx and Engels, it was only rescued in the 1930s by researchers in the USSR. However, a fully satisfactory standalone version in English has yet to be achieved, with only a heavily abridged 1970 edition edited by C.J.
