The Church of the One Soul in Philadelphia is in need of a new minister, and Rev. Oxford Christie is brought in to lead the church. However, Ox learns that Emmett and Jessie May, two new visitors, are actually undercover detectives investigating an old, still-open case that involves the church and its dwindling congregation.
