Absolutely brilliant! I was hooked from the very first page. The story was heart-wrenching and had me completely immersed in the characters' lives.
Annies mother, Eve, died in childbirth thirty-five years ago, leaving Annie to wonder about the truth behind her disappearance. Despite the profound loss, Annie managed to grow up and lead a fulfilling life. She is an estate agent, loves her partner, Gabe, and is finally expecting a baby after two years of trying. However, as her pregnancy progresses, Annie becomes increasingly anxious about what happened to her mother and wants to ensure that history doesn't repeat itself.
Her quest for more information leads her down a frustrating path. The medical records no longer exist, her mother's family is estranged, and even her father can't provide any answers. But then, Annie comes across three long-hidden photographs that shed some light on the past. However, these clues raise more questions than they answer, and Annie starts to wonder what is real and what isn't.
The story is filled with suspense and mystery, and I was on the edge of my seat throughout. The characters were well-developed and relatable, and I found myself emotionally invested in their journey. The author did an excellent job of weaving together the past and present, and I was constantly questioning my own perceptions of the characters and the events that took place.
Overall, "The Missing Husband" is a must-read for anyone who loves a good mystery and a heart-wrenching story. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a well-written and compelling tale.
