Numerous Darts were acquired by London operators, effectively replacing smaller midibuses in their fleets. In 1995, a low-floor version, the Dart SLF, was introduced, following the step-entrance Dart's popularity. This model gained favor with operators across the United Kingdom and Hong Kong. In 2001, Transbus assumed production, later reverting to the Alexander Dennis name in 2005. The final Darts entered service in London during 2007, marking the end of an era. Subsequently, the Enviro 200 took over as the primary London single-decker.
