Eventually, the woman was able to contact the police and report the incident. The driver was arrested, and Sam and Lloyd were reunited with their families.

Looking back on the experience, Sam and Lloyd realized how lucky they were to have survived. They knew that they had made a mistake by trusting a stranger, but they also knew that they had been strong and resilient in the face of danger.
