When her friends gift her a 23andMe test as a gag, high school senior Chloe Chang doesn't think much of trying it out. She doesn't believe anything will come of it; she's an only child, her mother is an orphan, and her father died in Seoul before she was even born, and before her mother moved to Oklahoma. It's been just Chloe and her mum her whole life. But the DNA test reveals something Chloe never expected: she's got a whole extended family from her father's side, half a world away in Korea.

Turns out her father's family are amongst the richest families in Seoul, and they want to meet Chloe. So, despite her mother's reservations, Chloe travels to Seoul and is whisked into the lap of luxury. . . . but something feels wrong. Soon Chloe will discover the reason why her mother never told her about her dad's family, and why the Nohs wanted her in Seoul in the first place. Could joining the Noh family be worse than having no family at all?

Chloe's mother, Lily, is a fierce and protective woman who has always put her daughter's needs first. She is deeply suspicious of the Noh family and their intentions, and she refuses to let Chloe go to Seoul. Chloe, however, is determined to meet her father's family and learn more about her heritage.

As Chloe arrives in Seoul, she is greeted by the Noh family's chauffeur, Min-ho. He is handsome and charming, and he quickly wins Chloe's trust. Min-ho takes Chloe to the Noh mansion, where she is introduced to the family's patriarch, Mr. Noh. He is a stern and imposing man, but he is also kind and welcoming.

Over the next few days, Chloe spends more time with the Noh family. She attends lavish parties, meets her cousins, and learns about Korean culture. She also begins to develop feelings for Min-ho, who seems to be genuinely interested in her.

But as Chloe gets closer to the Noh family, she begins to notice strange things. She overhears conversations that suggest the family is involved in illegal activities, and she sees signs of corruption and greed. Chloe also discovers that her father's family has a dark secret that has been kept hidden for generations.

One night, Chloe sneaks out of the Noh mansion and goes to a local bar. There, she meets a young man named Daniel, who is also from Seoul. Daniel is kind and humble, and he tells Chloe about his own family and their struggles. He also tells Chloe about a group of activists who are fighting against the Noh family's corruption and greed.

Chloe is inspired by Daniel's story, and she decides to join the activists. She uses her connections with the Noh family to gather information and help them plan their next move. But as Chloe becomes more involved in the activism, she realizes that she is putting herself in danger. The Noh family is not willing to let anyone stand in their way, and they will do anything to protect their interests.

In a final confrontation, Chloe and the activists face off against the Noh family. The family is ruthless and violent, and they are determined to silence Chloe and anyone who stands in their way. But Chloe is determined to fight back, and she uses all of her skills and resources to bring the Noh family to justice.

In the end, Chloe emerges victorious. The Noh family is brought to justice, and Chloe is hailed as a hero. She is proud of her heritage and grateful for the support of her friends and family. She also realizes that she has a new family in Daniel and the activists, and she knows that she will never forget the lessons she learned from her experience with the Noh family.
