About the editors

Li Wei serves as Director and Dean of the UCL Institute of Education, situated at the University College London in the United Kingdom. Concurrently, he occupies the Chair in Applied Linguistics. Li Wei's eminence in the field is underscored by his pivotal role as the Editor of two prominent journals, the International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism, as well as the Applied Linguistics Review. In recognition of his contributions to academia, he has been honoured as a Fellow of the illustrious British Academy, the Academia Europaea, the Academy of Social Sciences (UK), and the venerable Royal Society of Arts (UK).

Zhu Hua, a luminary in Language Learning and Intercultural Communication, holds her position as a Professor at the Institute of Education, University College London (UCL). She directs the International Centre for Intercultural Studies within the institution. Zhu Hua's eminence is underscored by her status as an elected Fellow of the distinguished Academy of Social Sciences, UK, as well as her esteemed position as an elected Fellow and Board member of the prestigious International Academy for Intercultural Research. Her leadership extends to the helm of the British Association for Applied Linguistics (BAAL), where she currently serves as Chair for the term 2021-2024.

James Simpson, a scholar in the Division of Humanities at the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, has previously held the position of Senior Lecturer in Language Education at the School of Education, University of Leeds. During his tenure at the University of Leeds, he demonstrated his leadership by guiding the Language Education Academic Group to excellence.
