Alexander Bogdanov, a prominent figure in the Russian Social-Democratic Labour Party, played a significant role in the Revolution of 1905 as a co-leader of the Bolshevik faction alongside V.I. Lenin. During this period, he actively engaged in the revolution and the struggle against Marxist revisionism. In this volume, Bogdanov presents his ideas and perspectives on revolutionary Social-Democracy through a series of articles. These writings serve as a defense of the principles of revolutionary Social-Democracy based on a neutral monist philosophy known as empiriomonism. Bogdanov also emphasizes the importance of the invariable regularity of nature and the use of the principle of selection to explain social development. In the article "On the Psychology of Society" (1904/06), Bogdanov critiques the neo-Kantian philosophy of Russia's Marxist revisionists, refutes their critique of historical materialism, and further develops the idea that labor technology determines social consciousness. In the article "New World" (1905), Bogdanov envisions the future of humankind under socialism and highlights the role of labor technology in shaping social consciousness. Additionally, his contributions to "Studies in the Realist Worldview" (1904/05) defend the labor theory of value and critique neo-Kantian sociology.
