Upon returning to her grandparents' home in Damascus, her family labeled her a traitor, unable to forgive her for her involvement. The consequences of her actions were profound. Loubna's father was exiled, her mother tragically murdered, and her boyfriend, Peter Kassig, an American, was executed by ISIS.
