He immersed himself in painting as a practice within his neo-traditional framework, spending weeks, months, and years in his studio. His daily journey from his Georgian townhouse to the studio in socially-deprived Toxteth, a journey made over 6000 times in 7 years, created a routine built from the relentless need to keep visiting the studio and to paint. His time in Liverpool has resulted in an immense body of work, including hundreds of paintings and thousands of drawings. This book, edited by Stian Gabrielsen, features essays by Dag Erik Elgin, Jeremy Glogan, Stian Gabrielsen, and Victor Boullet, and is designed by Texas Knuller.
