Nathan Moffatt, the wedding organizer at the Granshire Hotel, is surrounded by people who are determined to find him a boyfriend. He desires to go home, binge-watch crime dramas, and eat pizza in his underwear, as he finds the idea of romance exhausting after spending every day creating romantic experiences for his clients. However, no one believes him, and he is constantly subjected to lectures about dying alone.

In a moment of inspiration, Nathan decides that he needs a bad boyfriend who shares his desire to stay single. He turns to Flynn Delaney, a man who is often portrayed in Ceremony as the worst boyfriend on the island. Flynn initially hesitates, unsure if he wants to be associated with such a reputation. However, he sees an opportunity to hang out with Nathan and annoy the Granshires' owners.

At first, Flynn plays along as Nathan's bad boyfriend, but he soon realizes that he is actually a pretty good boyfriend. Nathan starts to wonder if getting off the sofa occasionally and spending time with Flynn is really such a bad thing. As they spend more time together, Nathan discovers that Flynn has a lot to offer him, including a sense of humor, a caring nature, and a willingness to try new things.

Nathan's friends and family are initially skeptical of their relationship, but they eventually come to see that Nathan and Flynn are happy together. Nathan's mother, who had been pushing him to find a boyfriend, realizes that her son is content and happy without a romantic partner. His best friend, who had been trying to set him up with various women, admits that he was wrong and that Nathan should be allowed to follow his own path.

The barmaid at the local pub, who had been trying to convince Nathan to date her, is also surprised by the change in Nathan's attitude. She had always thought that Nathan was a romantic at heart, but she now sees that he is content with being single.

In the end, Nathan and Flynn continue to be happy together, and Nathan realizes that he doesn't need a boyfriend to be happy. He has found a true friend in Flynn, and he is content with the simple things in life. The people who had been trying to find him a boyfriend are left wondering why they had ever been so determined to interfere in his life.

Nathan's story is a testament to the power of self-discovery and the importance of being true to oneself. It shows that sometimes, the things we think we want aren't necessarily what we need, and that it's okay to follow our own path, even if it goes against the expectations of others.
