Migration has been a prevalent phenomenon throughout history, spanning from prehistoric times to the present, and has been recently observed in regions such as the Mediterranean, Africa, and Asia. Armed conflict inevitably leads to population displacement, encompassing refugees fleeing the dangers of war, displacement by invaders or regime change, and population migration with expansionist purposes. These phenomena have received inadequate historical attention, thus motivating the creation of this book, endorsed by the Spanish Association of Military History.
