Daisuke Yokota presented an installation of 100,000 photographic prints coated in wax at the Aichi Triennial in 2016, extending his work 'Matter' to commemorate 70 years after the war between Japan and China. The work was burnt in a vacant space and documented in 4,000 photographs, which were processed and manipulated to create a new large-scale work called 'MATTER / BURN OUT'.
