- More about A Treasure to be Shared: Understanding Anglicanorum coetibus
A Treasure to Be Shared is intended to promote a more widespread knowledge of the Apostolic Constitution Anglicanorum coetibus, promulgated by Pope Benedict XVI in 2009, which provided for Personal Ordinariates for Anglicans entering into full communion with the Catholic Church. A Treasure to Be Shared is a project aimed at increasing awareness of the Apostolic Constitution Anglicanorum coetibus, issued by Pope Benedict XVI in 2009. This constitution allowed for the establishment of Personal Ordinariates for Anglicans seeking full communion with the Catholic Church. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of this important document, an academic symposium was organized in 2019 by the Pontifical Gregorian University and the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. The symposium offered a comprehensive exploration of the Apostolic Constitution's historical, liturgical, canonical, and ecumenical implications, with the goal of providing insights for the broader Church.
The reader is encouraged to view the Personal Ordinariates of The Chair of Saint Peter in the United States and Canada, Our Lady of Walsingham in Great Britain, and Our Lady of the Southern Cross in Australia as a precious gift to the Church and a treasure that should be shared by all. These ordinariates offer a unique path for Anglicans to unite with the Catholic Church while preserving their distinct traditions and liturgies.
By promoting greater understanding and appreciation of the Apostolic Constitution, A Treasure to Be Shared seeks to foster greater unity and collaboration within the Christian community. It is a testament to the Church's commitment to dialogue and ecumenism, and to the importance of preserving the rich diversity of Christian faith and practice.
